Biofuels Digest Index gains 1.75 percent to 55.35 as energy stocks rally

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, rose 1.75 percent to close at 55.35. Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) rose 5.23 percent  to close at $22.54, while VeraSun Energy (VSE) gained 16.33 percent to $0.57. Among small caps, Biofuel Energy (BIOF) fell 20.31 percent to $0.51. Overall, advances led declines 5 to 3 for the day.
