In India, the Centre for Jatropha Promotion & Biodiesel released a plan to plant 5 billion jatropha plants to support a 2.5 billion gallon per year biodiesel operation in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The Centre said that it will contract with 30 Zonal Bio-business Partners at the state level, 210 District Bio-business Partners at the district level, and 3000 Block Bio-business Partners. The CJP proposal uses a contract farming model, whereby CJP will provide seeds and other inputs and buy back the oil. CJP Director R.R.
