Biofuels Digest Index soars 14.98 percent to 53.35 as broad market advances

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, soared 14.98 percent to 53.35 amidst a general equities recovery. Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) rose 17.34 percent  to close at $20.98, while VeraSun Energy (VSE) recovered 45.83 percent to $1.05, primarily on coverage by shortsellers. Among small caps, Xethanol (XNL) was renamed Global Energy Holdings (GNH) and rose to $0.25. Overall, advances led declines 3 to 1 for the day.
