In Malaysia, Carotino announced that it has increased utilization at its biodiesel plants to 95 percent of capacity, owing to the 60 percent drop in crude palm oil prices. Company executives said that biodiesel margins are $40-$50 per ton, despite the fall in Malaysian biodiesel prices to $700 per ton, down from as much as $1300 per ton earlier this year when CPO prices peaked.
