In Canada, Lignol announced a cellulosic ethanol development agreement with Suncor. Under the terms of the agreement, Suncor will assist Lignol with development of its demonstration cellulosic ethanol plant in Grand Junction, Colorado, and the two companies pledged to negotiate a joint venture by January 2009 to establish commercial deployment of Lignol’s technology. The proposed venture would receive periodic, milestone-driven investments from Suncor, which would own a controlling interest in the JV.
