In Iowa, a proposed 60 Mgy biodiesel plant in Hardy has been officially abandoned, when the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors signed a contract termination agreement. The Future Energy plant was originally approved in 2006, but did not ultimately use the $400,000 in county funding for the proposed $75 million project when rising costs made the plant unfeasible.
