In Illinois, seven ethanol plants are currently in limbo or delayed in the central part of the state due to deteriorating market conditions, but AE Biofuels confirmed that it is moving forward with a 115 Mgy corn ethanol plant in San Jose. Construction on the project is not expected to begin before spring 2009. Dave Loos, director of technology development for the Illinois Corn Growers Association, told ilfb.com that a maximum of eight plants out of the 35 that have received permits from the Illinois EPA will be built.
