Biofuels Digest Index plummets 10.86 percent to 47.42 as ethanol stocks fall

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, plummeted 10.86 percent to 47.42 as recession fears hit oil and ethanol stocks.  The Andersons (ANDE) lost 9.83 percent to close at $29.91, while VeraSun Energy (VSE) fell 15.07 percent to $1.86.  Among small caps, Raven Biofuels (RVBF.OB) fell 20.45 percent to $0.35. Overall, declines led advances 15 to 1 for the day.
