In Iowa, a 5-car ethanol train derailed near Dyersville near the VeraSun Energy ethanol plant. No injuries or fuel spillage were reported, and an Iowa hazardous materials fire team was able to be present on the scene. Fire crews around the country continue to face shortages of training and equipment in dealing with the threat of ethanol fires, which require specialized haz-mat techniques.
