In Iowa, the $300 million Vision Fuel corn ethanol project in Des Moines has been cancelled, citing financing difficulties in the present environment. The city had provided Vision with several extensions due to the financing delays, but plans for the 110 Mgy plant could not be revived in current lending conditions. Earlier this year, Vision cancelled Iowa biofuel projects in Boone and Liscomb.
