In Ohio, POET commenced operations at its 65 Mgy corn ethanol plant in Fostoria, the company’s 25th operation. The company owns the BPX technology that reduces energy usage 8-15 percent compared to traditional ethanol facilities, and has installed a thermal oxidizer at the plant that will eliminate 99.9 percent of air emissions. The $130 million project will also produce more than 175,000 tons of distillers grains.
