California slashes fees for personal waste oil collection for biodiesel

In California, Governor Schwarzenegger inked Assembly Bill 1846 that will reduce fees by more than 80 percent for individuals who collect and haul inedible kitchen oils and grease for personal use as biodiesel feedstock. The fees were reduced from $00 per year to $75, and California Assembly sponsor Anthony Adams (R-Hesperia) said that the new law would promote use of renewable fuels at the grassroots level and discourage oil theft.
