China’s Liangci Sugar Manufacture proposes $40 million cassava ethanol plant for Fiji

In Fiji, Liangci Sugar Manufacture said that it would invest $40 million in the start-up of a cassava=-based ethanol plant, potentially located near Naitasiri, Tailevu, Vanua Levu, Nadroga, Sigatoka or Navua. The company said that it was likely to establish a 49 percent stake in the venture, which would receive a low-cost government loan to help with start-up expenses.
