In Texas, T. Boone Pickens told skeptics of his energy plan, “If you don’t like my plan, get a plan.” He criticized those who failed to offer alternatives to the Pickens Plan as “with the status quo … that’s for foreign oil.”. The billionaire oil investor says that he has conducted favorable talks with Google, Al Gore, Google, and picked up some praise from Agricultural Secretary Ed Schafer, who said “You’ve go to love the guy who’s 80 years old and is spending [trillions] for a 10-year plan.” The plan calls for a massive expansion of wind power and a shift in natural gas to the transportation sector for use in compressed natural gas (CNG) cars. “We are broke in 10 years if we don’t do this,” he said.
