Omnivore engine that runs on any combination of gasoline, ethanol, butanol: more details emerge

In Illinois, progress at the Argonne National Laboratory on the Omnivore engine that runs on any mixture of gasoline, ethanol, butanol or other fuels, is the subject of an article at physorg.com. Mechanical engineer Thomas Wallner of Argonne provides a richer set of details regarding the concept engine than previously published, including description of how the proposed engine will self-optimize for fuel economy, as opposed to most current flex-fuel engines that are “hard calibrated” to run optimally on gasoline.
