In Georgia, a grease recycling plant in Talmo where a 10 million gallon detention pond famously caught fire last September, will convert to a biodiesel facility. Zurix Biodiesel, formed by the current owner of the Agri-Cycle plant that was closed by the state EPA, has received $500,000 USDA renewable-energy grant to launch a biodiesel plant. Plant capacity was not announced, but the owners said that the brown and yellow grease for the plant would be sourced in Georgia.
