A new poll in Ontario found that supporters and opponents for increasing the ethanol mandate to 10 percent in the Canadian province are evenly divided. Nanos Research found that 32 percent support the increase, 31 support the current 5 percent mandate and 27 wish to see the mandate lowered. Liberals and Conservative voters are more supportive than New Democratic Party members, while women express sharply higher support than men. 41 percent of Green Party members supported reducing the ethanol mandate. A May poll by the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association found that 67 percent of all Canadians supported an increase in the ethanol mandate to 10 percent. A copy of the full report is here.
