Shell sets early ‘09 as decision date for cellulosic ethanol green-light in Iogen partnership

In Canada, Shell said that it would make its final investment decision in early 2009 with respect to the proposed 24 Mgy cellulosic ethanol plant that it is developing in partnership with Iogen. Iogen established a demonstration scale plant in 2004, and Shell and Iogen signed a partnership agreement last July. The technology plan having been completed, a final set of cost estimates and a project scope study are the final analytic products that the team will undertake prior to the final decision.
