In Brazil, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will be among the dignitaries in attendance for the opening of Petrobras’ 15 Mgy biodiesel plant in Quixadá. The plant is the second of the same size opened by Petrobras Biocombustível, the new Petrobras biofuels subsidiary. The first 15 Mgy plant was opened in Candeias, in Bahia province. The third Petrobras Biocombustível plant will open in Montes Claros, in Minas Gerais province. The project cost for the three plants is $182 million.
