In Germany, St1 and Marquard & Bahls have inked a letter of intent to jointly introduce St1’s waste-to-ethanol Etanolix technology into Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It will mark the debut of waste-to-ethanol technologies into Central Europe. Earlier this year, St1 established a similar JV to introduce the Etanolix process into Japan. St1 markets ethanol via 450 stations in Finland, Sweden and Poland, as well as green power, heating oil, pellets and small wind power stations.
