The Arkenol Process was developed by a predecessor company to BlueFire Ethanol and will be employed by BlueFire at its two proposed plants in California.
Recently, the Los Angeles County Planning Commission gave the go-ahead to the proposed $30 million BlueFire Ethanol plant in Lancaster. The waste to ethanol project will commence construction this fall if no appeals are filed to the Planning Commission ruling by August. The plant will use yard and paper wastes, and wheat straw among other cellulosic feedstocks.
