In Texas, Environmental Power will break ground on a a third manure-to-energy facility, in Hereford. The company opened projects at Huckabay Ridge and Rio Leche Estates in the past year, and will open this project at the Cnossen Dairy. The company’s technology captures renewable natural gas that can be transported using the existing national natural gas pipeline infrastructire. The Cnossen Dairy facility is expected to produce 635 MMBtus of gas per year, enough for 9MW of power, or enough to supply power for 11,000 homes, using manure from 10,000 cows.
