Biofuels Digest Index plummets 4.98 percent to all-time low of 74.98 on ADM earnings shock

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, fell 4.98 percent yesterday to an all-time low of 74.98 driven by investor stampeded out of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) following an earnings bloodbath. For the day, ADM  fell 5.58 percent to $25.87, while VeraSun Energy (VSE) gained 2.22 percent to $6.44 on a benign day for ethanol. Among small caps, Nova Biosource Fuels (NBF) fell 5.26 percent to $0.36. Overall, declines led advances 2 to 1 for the day.
