Forbes names Iowa, North Dakota, Georgia, Mississippi and North Carolina leading states for biomass potential

biomass resourceForbes Magazine named Iowa, North Dakota, Georgia. Mississippi and North Carolina the most important state sources of biomass. Iowa was cited as the leader in grain potential, North Dakota for switchgrass, willow and poplar potential; Georgia for 25 million tons of mill wood debris; Mississippi for 3.6 million tons of logging waste, and North Carolina for methane from manure based on the 10 million hog population.
