Biofuels Digest Index drops 3.31 percent to all-time low of 89.96 on general stock retreat

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, dropped 3.31 percent to an all-time low of 89.96 as the stock market experienced a general retreat.  For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) lost 3.42 percent to $32.16, while Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) dropped 8.23 percent to $1.45, although Aventine Renewable Energy (AVR) gained 3.97 percent to close at $4.98.  Among small caps, Xethanol (XNL) fell 9.76 percent to $0.37.  Overall, declines led advances 2 to 1 for  the day.
