Israeli algae producer to construct commercial-scale plant

In Israel, Seambiotic announced a partnership with US-based Inventure Chemical to construct its first commercial-scale algae biofuel plant. The plant will use high-oil yield algae strains developed over the past five years at the Seambiotics’ demonstration plant, adjacent to the Israeli Electric’s power station near Ashkelon. Inventure will contribute its proprietary process for manufacturing ethanol, biodiesel and other chemicals to the venture
