In South Africa, Sasol, the state oil company, said that has placed a 100,000 tonne biodiesel plant on hold because of insufficient government support. The company said it would review the decision throughout the summer and finalize its new direction by October. Meanwhile, Erthanol Africa halted construction of its Bothaville plant owing to financing concerns and government support. The company said the plant would remain on hold until the government finalized its biofuels policy.
