Biofuels Digest Index falls 1.37 percent to 103.64 on corn crop failure fears

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, fell 1.37 percent to 103.64 on a fallback in ethanol stocks. For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) lost 1.15 percent to close at $37.12, while VeraSun Energy tumbled 10.17 percent to %5.30 on corn crop failure fears. Among small caps, Nova Biosource Fuels (NBF) fell 9.43 percent to $0.96 on news of a plant capacity expansion. Overall, declines led advances 2 to 1 for the day.
