Biofuels Digest Index gains 0.85 percent to 107.58, halting a week-long slide

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, gained 0.85 percent to 107.58 to halt a weeklong slide. For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) rose 0.92 percent to close at $38.46, while VeraSun Energy (VSE) fell 1.66 percent to close at $5.91 but Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) gained 2.53 percent to close at $3.24. Among small caps, Nova Biosource Fuels gained 5.50 percent to reach $1.15. Overall, advances led advances 3 to 2 for the day.
