Evolution Biodiesel finds growing niche in 24-230 gallon processors for homebrewers

May 19, 2008

In Alabama, Evolution Biodiesel is marketing 24-230 gallon biodiesel processors for home brewers. The company said it has tripled sales since 2006. Customers of the company, after purchasing the equipment, collect waste vegetable oil from business, restaurants and recycling sites to use as feedstock. The company, which has customers in all 50 US states as well as Canada and Europe, said that it has customized larger processors for some customers.

Alabama is also home to two PetroSun projects of interest. PetroSun acquired fifty percent of Fleet Biodiesel, majority owner of the Eagle Biodiesel project in Bridgeport and announced plans to increase production capacity to 50 Mgy. The company also signed a joint venture to develop and operate a 30 Mgy algae biodiesel facility in Coolidge. Construction is projected to commence in the third quarter of this year.
