Biofuels Digest Index falls 0.43 percent to 119.64 on ethanol earnings

The Biofuels Digest Indexâ„¢ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, drifted downwards 0.43 percent to 119.64 on an ethanol retreat after quarterly earnings were reported by VeraSun Energy (VSE). For the day, The Andersons (ANDE) fell 0.76 percent to close at $43.12, while VeraSun plummeted 7.81 percent to $5.90 as ethanol tumbled.

Among small caps, Environmental Power (EPG) rose 6.39 percent to $4.66.  Overall, declines led advances 5 to 3 for the day.
