Roll Call of Senate flip-floppers on biofuels mandate

The following US Senators voted for passage of the Energy Security and Independence Act 2007 on 12/14/07 and yesterday wrote to the EPA Administrator to waive the Renewable Fuel Standard established in the Bill. The RFS was considered the centerpiece of the Act’s legislation.

Wayne Allard (R-CO)
Susan Collins (R-ME)
Bob Corker (R-TN)
John Cornyn (R-TX)
Mike Crapo (R-ID)
Elizabeth Dole (R-NC)
Lindsey Graham (R-SC)
Johnny Isakson (R-GA)
Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)
Richard Shelby (R-AL)
Ted Stevens (R-AK)
David Vitter (R-LA)

6 Senators voted for the original Senate version of the Energy Security and Independence Act 2007, passed 65-27 on 6/21/2007, and signed the request for the EPA waiver. The amended Senate bill increased the size of the proposed Renewable Fuel Mandate from the original House bill.

Susan Collins (R-ME)
Bob Corker (R-TN)
Mike Crapo (R-ID)
John Ensign (R-NV)
Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)
Ted Stevens (R-AK)

Two Senators missed both votes. They are Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and John McCain (R-AZ).
