Brazilian ethanol production expected to reach record 6.4 billion gallons in 2008
In Brazil, the Sugar and Ethanol Industry Association said that 58 percent of the Brazilian sugar crop would be converted to ethanol in 2008, a record. Production is expected to reach 6.4 billion gallons. 56 percent of the sugar cane crop was converted to ethanol in 2007, and 51 percent in 2006.
