Greenline Industries says new biodiesel processor opens up more yellow grease, waste vegetable oil, other low-cost feedstocks

April 17, 2008

In California, Greenline Industries, which recently received a $20 million capital infusion, has developed a high free fatty acids processor that will permit more yellow grease and waste vegetable oils to be converted into biodiesel. Greenline said that its product was superior to traditional stripping technologies that require caustic acids or other pollution streams, nitrogen is recovered, and water is not used in the process. The processor can handle up to 13 percent FFA content.

Last moth, Leaf Clean Energy invested $20 million in Greenline, to facilitate expansion of Greenline’s R&D effort. Leaf Clean, a publicly-traded investment company, said that it expect to complete its investment phase in December 2008 and is shortlisting another 23 companies for potential investments.
