Indiana Ethanol Power receives OK from county for 20 Mgy waste-to-ethanol plant

Indiana Ethanol Power announced it received approval from Lake County Solid Waste Management District to build the first-ever commercial municipal solid waste (MSW) to ethanol production facility in the nation. Using the patented GeneSyst process, the IEP facility will produce 20 million gallons of fuel-grade ethanol and other products each year from 1.5 thousand tons per day of refuse.
