GreenFuel to sign $92 million European bioreactor deal to produce algae-based biodiesel

March 18, 2008

In Massachusetts, GreenFuel Technologies has signed a $92 million development deal for an algae-based biodiesel plant in Europe, according to Xconomy. The company had conducted a disastrous algae test last year with Arizona Public Service, in which algae bloomed too quickly. GreenFuel’s process is based on co-generation with biomass-burning power plants, and captures the carbon dioxide emissions to feed its algae.

Every power plant that GreenFuel has deployed with has been fossil fuel-burning, not biomass-burning.

    Got something to say?
