Dominick’s converts 428 grocery truck fleet to B20 biodiesel
In Illinois, Dominick’s grocery stores will convert its 428 truck fleet to B20 biodiesel. The company, which operates 99 stores across the Midwest, said that it expects to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by more than 500 tons per year as a result of the move.
Dominick’s parent company, Safeway Stores, announced this week that it is converting its entire nationwide fleet to B20 biodiesel. Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter and Sen. Ken Salazar attended the company’s announcement in Denver. The conversion follows a successful conversion of the company’s 79-truck Arizona fleet to B20 last August.
