$100 million, 79 Mgy ethanol plant approved for Coleambally, Australia
In Australia, the New South Wales Government approved a $100 million, 79 Mgy ethanol plant at Coleambally. The Four Arrows project will also produce enough distiller’s grains to provide feed for 18,000 dairy cattle, making the local Riverina district home to the largest dairy operation in the country with a milk capacity of 20 Mgy.
The project is the first announced in Australia since Ethtec commenced production on December 17 at its pilot cellulosic ethanol plant near Maclean in northern New South Wales. Ethtec’s process uses hydrolysis to convert cellulose to sugars, which can then be fermented into ethanol.
