HG Consulting to invest $475 million in Kenya sugar ethanol project at Homa Bay
In Kenya, HG Consulting will invest spend $475 million in The Ngima Project at Homa Bay, which will produce 100,000 tons of sugar for the domestic market and 68 Mgy of sugar cane ethanol for export.
Kenya has also been attracting attention over the Green Power East Africa jatropha biodiesel plant in Nairobi. Also, Pioneer Carbon announced plans to produce biogas for domestic cooking. The company has already led carbon-trading projects such as installing an electric-generation capability for Muhoroni Sugar Company that permitted it to supply its own power and sell excess power to Kenya Power and Lighting.
