Industrial Ethanol Assocation forms in Europe

Synthetic ethanol producers INEOS, PetroSA Europe, and Sasol Solvents Germany have banded together to launch the IEA (Industrial Ethanol Association). The group will represent the sector to policymakers and aims to ensure a fair competitive environment and overall economic health for the European ethanol industry.

Other industry associations such as the Eurpoean Bioethanol Fuel Association and the European Biodiesel Board have been highly visible in recent weeks over anti-dumping lobbying on the biodiesel side, and combating the jihad against biofuels on the ethanol side. The EBFA was one of the organizatinos calling on the OECD to clarify that a report criticizing biofuels was erroneously attributed to the OECD.
