Florida’s Palm Beach county to convert 115-bus fleet to biodiesel

In Florida, the Palm Beach County bus system will convert its 115-bus fleet to an undisclosed biodiesel blend in January 2008. The County originally had looked at purchasing electric hybrids, but the project was cost-prohibitive.

This month, fleets in Helsinki, New Hampshire, San Antonio, Somerville (Mass.), and Thailand have announced biodiesel trials and conversions, including a total of more than 600 buses. Also, Sao Paulo has announced that it will deploy Scania biofuel buses in a trial.
