60 Mgy corn ethanol project proposed for Rhode Island

In New England, an investor group has proposed a $135 million ethanol plant in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The Atlantic Ethanol plant would produce up to 60 Mgy of corn ethanol for New England markets.

New England has seen a flurry of project announcements in the past week.  This week, CT Biodiesel presented plans for its 50 Mgy biodiesel plant proposed for Suffield, Connecticut. Also, Magellan Midstream is reportedly considering construction of 145,000- barrel biodiesel storage facility at its New Haven, Connecticut terminal.
