Beer distributor substitutes ethanol for beer in 203 display bottles served accidentally to consumers

In Toronto, the distributors of Stella Artois beer substituted ethanol for real beer in 203 display bottles, reportedly because ethanol ages better.

The problem? Bottles were subsequently served to customers, who found a new type of “Fuel kick” in their beer.

No injuries were reported from ethanol, although one consumer reportedly became ill after drinking too much ethanol. The problem came to light after a patron noticed the beer was flat.
