Ceres to have exclusive access to Texas A&M sorghum hybrids

In Texas, Texas A&M University and Ceres have signed an agreement to develop new cane sorghum hybrids to enhance cellulosic ethanol productivity. Under the agreement, Ceres will have the rights for two years to new hybrids created by Texas A&M researchers.

Ceres, a developer of cellulosic ethanol feedstocks including sorghum, switchgrass, and miscanthus, holds one of the world’s largest proprietary collections of fully sequenced plant genes. It is not related to Ceres (pronounced “series”) the national network of investors, environmental organizations and other public interest groups that addresses sustainability challenges and directs the Investor Network on Climate Risk.
