Camelina-powered flight hits 25,000 feet in Marine helicopter

In Maryland, a USMC tilt rotor MV-22 Osprey was flown on a blend of 50/50 camelina based and petroleum based JP-5 aviation fuel.

The Osprey was test flown by the “Blackjacks” of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (HX) 21 at Naval Air Station Patuxent River.  Reportedly the Osprey reached an altitude of up to 25,000 ft. during the flight test.
