City, harbor commission feud over ethanol plant

August 10, 2011 |

In Canada, a public fight —via letters published on the City of Oshawa’s website—has broken out between the City and the Oshawa Harbour Commission regarding a proposed ethanol plant.

The City has been vehemently against the project, even before the environmental assessments were completed, according to the Harbour Commission. Since the City started its campaign against the plant on Canada Day on July 1, more than 2,000 signatures have been gathered opposing the facility.
