Brazil needs $50B in new investment to meet domestic biofuels demand

In Brazil, ETH Bioenergia says the country’s ethanol industry needs $50 billion in investment by 2015/16 in order to meet domestic demand. Thanks to Brazil’s growing flex-fuel fleet, consumption is expected to rise to 60 billion liters by then, up from its current consumption of 24 billion liters.

Though national and international investment has already been substantial in the country, ETH says this is only the beginning of what’s needed.
